Green Man Festival

The Green Man really came to town on May 2 this year! In partnership with City of Allentown and WDIY, we celebrated the Greening of the Queen City at the beautiful Baum School of Art. Highlights of the Green Man Festival included:

• Shama gave a presentation about Damanhur, a 1,000 member Italian eco-community, and told us about the "Music of the Plants"
• A fashion show featured hand painted Damanhurian silks
• The attendees participated in creating "The Grotto", an art installation made from soil, branches, vines, greens and flowers, symbolizing the birth place of the Green Man
• Pebble Theatre performed their 2009 debut, Heroes in My Heart, featuring children from Central Elementary School
• Mike Gill facilitated a vibrant drum circle
• Local singer/songwriter Scott Paul performed original pieces including "The Bells of Allentown" and "The Green Man"
• All enjoyed a wonderful feast of Middle Eastern and Latino cuisine served by local Allentown restaurants ACI Halal and Las Palmas.
